Grounded framed canvas

I painted this at a time when I was working hard on my mental fitness and being content and confident in the decisions I had made about my career.

I hope that this piece is gives you a sense of stability, of feeling rooted, “earthed”: that it immediately connects you back to nature, and the clean fresh energy that comes through us when we are within, and connected to the wilderness.

It will give your home a focal energy and a constant reminder to return to the present moment and the earth beneath our feet.

Built of layer upon layer of darkest greys, muted greens and ochre acrylic paints that are carved to create texture: these rich muted colours contrast with thin veils of bright white oil wash that represents weather as it moves across the landscape. 

Our framed canvas is a 38mm stretched canvas within a traditional picture frame.

The simple addition of a wooden picture frame creates a completely new form of wall art, quite distinct to a standard canvas.

The thin frame sits approximately 5mm from the edge of the canvas helping create a floating border.
